About UDOTAI

Mathematics is the language through which UDOTAI explores and understands the patterns and forms in the world around us. UDOTAI pushes beyond traditional boundaries, seeking interesting aesthetics that blend the digital and the physical, the ephemeral and the permanent.

The UDOTAI story began in Santa Barbara, California in 2016 when Udo Gyene met Tai Rodrig through their shared passion for the beauty of mathematics. Their mutual fascination with mathematical art blossomed into a creative partnership.

Over the years, their work has expanded into a diverse range of projects, each exploring new ways to bring mathematical concepts to life. Folded paper and 3D printed sculptures, plotter art, optical illusions, video transforms, projections -- their creations lay at the intersection of geometry, form, and visual expression. They also develop custom visualizer software, which they use to create immersive live performances that harmonize with music and the surrounding environment. Their work has captivated audiences at venues such as SOhO Restaurant & Music Club and the Arlington Theatre.

Beyond their artistic endeavors, Udo and Tai are committed to using their technology to inspire the next generation. Their software tools not only showcase the beauty of mathematics but also aim to make abstract concepts more accessible and engaging for students. By integrating interactive visuals into math education, they strive to spark curiosity and help young minds see mathematics in a whole new light.
